For the last eight years, Roncalli Catholic has been a part of a full day of giving, Omaha Gives! through the Omaha Community Foundation. Last year, with the help of 161 supporters, we were able to raise over $27,000 in just 24 hours. $10,000 of which was a Matching Gift from Carol and John Higgins of John Higgins Weatherguard Inc.
Some things have changed this year, so we encourage you to read more about Omaha Gives! 2020 and how you can support the Crimson Pride on May 20!
What is Omaha Gives Day?
Omaha Gives! Day is a 24-hour, online giving event organized annually by the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in the metro area (Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie Counties). The giving day event will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The minimum donation is $1 and there is no maximum. Prizes, Challenge Funds, and Incentive Funds amplify charitable donations. The goal is to inspire the community to come together for 24 hours to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of local nonprofit organizations.
How does it work?
The Omaha Community Foundation has set up an online giving platform at OmahaGives.org with searchable profiles of participating nonprofits. All donations will be processed through this website, which allows nonprofits and donors to track the giving on May 20 via the site’s leaderboards.
How to give to RCHS during Omaha Gives?
Although we appreciate your support year-round, Omaha Gives Day! was created as a charitable holiday. There are two ways to give to Roncalli Catholic through OmahaGives.org If you know you will be busy during Omaha Gives, you can schedule a donation between May 1 and May 19, to go live on May 20. Or give during May 20 between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. with a minimum donation of $1. Gifts made through OmahaGives.org between May 1 and May 19 may be amplified by participation prizes, hourly drawings.
Can I donate using my phone?
Yes. OmahaGives.org is a “mobile optimized platform” that will make it easy to make a gift on your smartphone.
Regardless of your preferred way of giving, simply go to OmahaGives.org and click Donate, Nonprofits. To find Roncalli Catholic enter “Roncalli Catholic” where it says “Name, Keyword” and click GIVE. Enter your donation amount and select if you would like to make it a real-time donation or a recurring donation. Fill out the rest of your form and check out. It’s that easy!
How can I make a recurring gift?
The Omaha Gives platform allows you to give to Roncalli Catholic year-round! The option to make a recurring gift is located on the donation form. Once you choose “yes,” you set the first installment date. Then, choose how often you would like the donation to repeat (monthly or quarterly), and for what duration of time. Note: Only the initial gift installment on May 20 will count towards the 2020 Omaha Gives! event.
How can I help fundraise for RCHS during Omaha Gives?
Omaha Gives! is excited to offer individuals the opportunity to create Personal Cheer Pages to support Roncalli Catholic. The feature allows you to set your own fundraising goal for RCHS and accept donations from friends and family directly to your personal fundraising page on omahagives.org. To set up a Cheer Page, you will first need to create an Omaha Gives! donor profile. Once your profile is set up, navigate to the “My Cheer Pages” tab of your account and click on “Create A Cheer Page.” Choose Roncalli Catholic, create a page title and custom URL, and set your fundraising goal. When your Cheer Page is ready you can start to spread the word!
