(Last Updated May 1 at 12:00 p.m.)

Dear Roncalli Catholic Students and Families,

We are heading into our last weeks of school! The 2019-2020 school year will be one we talk about forever and we thank you for all your patience and support during this difficult time.
  • Students will continue online learning. Classes will end May 8th for seniors and May 15th for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students need to continue to do the required work to earn passing grades.
  • Seniors will be scheduled May 11-15 to come up and clean out their lockers and turn in books. Athletes need to turn uniforms in at this time.
  • Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be scheduled May 18-22.
  • The deadline to purchase yearbooks has been extended to May 15th! Books are available for purchase online at yearbookforever.com. For information please contact Mrs. Ballou-Barton.
  • Registration for the Roncalli Catholic Summer camps is now OPEN! Visit jrpride.org to register. Camps are currently planned to take place as scheduled. If any camp gets canceled or postponed due to COVID-19, full refunds will be available.
  • The school remains open but please contact us prior to coming in.
Senior Students/Families
We are still unsure about what the next few months will hold. However, we are going to tentatively schedule two dates for Senior Graduation.
  • June 21st (Father’s Day)
  • July 19th
(Please note: If we are not allowed to have large gatherings in July, we will have a virtual graduation ceremony on July 19th)
If you haven’t turned in your baby/senior pictures, $50 graduation fee, and verification forms, please do so as soon as possible.
Graduation caps and gowns will be distributed to the students the week before the official graduation ceremony. More information will come as soon as we confirm the date. If you ordered graduation announcements, feel free to stop by the school to pick them up.

Take care,

Ann O’Connor

President

Hello Roncalli Catholic Students and Families,

We are in uncharted waters and we don’t have all the answers. Roncalli Catholic and our faculty and staff are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students.  It will look different, but we will still push our students and help them grow in their faith and academics. We will evaluate every week and give an update every Friday at noon. Starting Monday, March 23rd, our education will move online. Here are the details:
1) Teachers will do a daily video and send it through Google Classroom. This video could be a lecture, presentation, or a review. It will be daily and students need to follow each day. Families should have a routine for their child as students will be held accountable to get their work done.
2) Teachers will be made available for questioning daily through Google Hangouts. This is a free App that students need to download on their Ipad. If a student has a question, they need to email that teacher during their time slot that is listed below. The teacher will call the student through Google Hangout. Students do not call the teacher, you MUST email the teacher that you have a question. Here are the time slots;

Math  8:00-10:00 a.m.
English 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Religion 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Science  11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
Social Studies 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
Foreign Language/Electives  1:00-3:00 p.m.
3) Students will still have tests, quizzes, and homework. We are still going to cover the material and students will still earn grades. Continue to check your child’s progress through Sycamore.
We are a family at Roncalli Catholic and we will get through this difficult time together. Ms. O’ConnorMr. Meister and I will be available at school each day to help with any concerns or questions. Mrs. Gandossy will also be available for any student who is struggling emotionally during this time. Please contact us if needed.
We know everyone has a lot of questions about future events. We don’t have those answers and we will update you weekly. We will do everything in our power to make these last months for our students, especially the seniors,  a special time. We all need to pray to heal those who are impacted by this virus and find a way to stop the spread of it so we can spend time in our halls together again this year.
More information will come out when we receive it. For questions please contact me at torr@roncallicatholic.org or at 402-571-7670 ext. 103.
Sincerely,
Mr. TJ Orr
Principal
