Hello Roncalli Catholic Students and Families,
We are in uncharted waters and we don’t have all the answers. Roncalli Catholic and our faculty and staff are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. It will look different, but we will still push our students and help them grow in their faith and academics. We will evaluate every week and give an update every Friday at noon. Starting Monday, March 23rd, our education will move online. Here are the details:
1) Teachers will do a daily video and send it through Google Classroom. This video could be a lecture, presentation, or a review. It will be daily and students need to follow each day. Families should have a routine for their child as students will be held accountable to get their work done.
2) Teachers will be made available for questioning daily through Google Hangouts. This is a free App that students need to download on their Ipad. If a student has a question, they need to email that teacher during their time slot that is listed below. The teacher will call the student through Google Hangout. Students do not call the teacher, you MUST email the teacher that you have a question. Here are the time slots;
Math 8:00-10:00 a.m.
English 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Religion 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Science 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
Social Studies 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
Foreign Language/Electives 1:00-3:00 p.m.
3) Students will still have tests, quizzes, and homework. We are still going to cover the material and students will still earn grades. Continue to check your child’s progress through Sycamore.
We are a family at Roncalli Catholic and we will get through this difficult time together. Ms. O’Connor, Mr. Meister and I will be available at school each day to help with any concerns or questions. Mrs. Gandossy will also be available for any student who is struggling emotionally during this time. Please contact us if needed.
We know everyone has a lot of questions about future events. We don’t have those answers and we will update you weekly. We will do everything in our power to make these last months for our students, especially the seniors, a special time. We all need to pray to heal those who are impacted by this virus and find a way to stop the spread of it so we can spend time in our halls together again this year.
More information will come out when we receive it. For questions please contact me at email@example.com or at 402-571-7670 ext. 103.
Mr. TJ Orr
