Each year, Roncalli Catholic hosts four events, uniting alumni, parents, staff and friends of the school to raise funds to support the young men and women of our school. A brief description of each event is offered below. Visit the individual event sites for additional information.
Festa del Leone is our school’s largest fund-raising event. Held each April, funds raised support operations as well as each student’s academic and extra-curricular experience at Roncalli Catholic. Featuring live and silent auctions, the event also features the presentation of the Pope Saint John XXIII Award, in honor of outstanding friends of our school in recognition of service to children and friends of God.
Swing with Pride
The Swing with Pride, A. Len Leavitt Memorial Golf Open was started in 1989 by A. Len Leavitt (deceased) and Roncalli Catholic President Emeritus Fr. Lloyd Gnirk as a means to raise funds to support educational opportunities for students. Held each August, the annual event unites 200+ alumni, current and past parents, staff, and friends of the school for a day of fun on the greens.
Since it launched in 2000, Roncalli Catholic’s High Tea event has become an annual tradition that encourages creativity and fun while raising funds for scholarship and tuition grant programs for our students. Held the first Sunday in November, the event transforms the school’s gymnasium into a large tea room. Table hostesses decorate the tables in unique themes ranging from picnic casual to formal elegance. From paper plates to fine china, and everything in between, there is something for everyone.
Roncalli Catholic’s first Trivia Night was held in February of 2015, and was so well received that it is now an annual tradition. This fun night out with friends brings out the competitive spirit in all who attend. There are ten rounds of ten questions from various categories such as history, cooking, American literature, Oscar winners, sports, etc., and don’t be surprised if there is a round based on facts about Roncalli Catholic High School. Attending this event is a fun way to support the mission of RCHS.
