More than 300 Roncalli Catholic High School supporters sipped tea, ate a catered lunch and enjoyed musical entertainment at the 2017 RCHS High Tea event. The fundraiser raised more than $14,000 for Roncalli Catholic High School students and programs as attendance rose by more than 20 percent from 2015.

Debbie Bremer, whose tables had an island/beach theme, said she loves the fellowship of High Tea.

“I love the comradery of all the women coming together and celebrating the fun in decorating the tables and doing all of this for the better good of Roncalli,” Bremer said. “I really feel that education is everyone’s business and we all have a role to play. I give back to enable kids to have the same chances at life that I have.”

Corinne Anderson (Class of 1984) set a table and volunteered on the High Tea Committee.

“High Tea is a great Roncalli tradition. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with past and present friends and supporters of our school. It is always fun to see the creativity of the table hostesses,” Anderson said.

The event showcased the talents of our students. Scones were prepared by RCHS Food and Nutrition students. Alumnus Ted Thomsen (Class of 1976), owner of Pleasure Your Palate Catering, supplied the main course, and alumnae Morgan Holzapfel (2013) baked cake pops and cupcakes for dessert. Finest Lady Grey Tea was provided by The Tea Smith. Entertainment was Pride A Capella, teen poet Jy’ion Berry (Class of 2017) and teen author Maddie Rheinheimer (2017) read her children’s book Undefined. Students volunteered as greeters and servers at the event.
